Buenos Aires → Coast → Florianópolis
Ferry, lighthouses and dunes: Uruguay end to end, all the way to Brazil.
16–24 days · ~3,600 km · Round trip · Best time: Nov–Dec and Mar–Apr
The ferry drops you in Colonia, smelling of river. From there Uruguay's coast stretches out: Montevideo's rambla, glitzy Punta del Este, then the wild part — Cabo Polonio with no electricity, Punta del Diablo with surf. Cross into Brazil at Chuy and keep going to the beaches of Florianópolis. Slow ride back along the same coast.
